This manual valve controls both the temperature and the flow of the water (for 2 functions in your bathroom) but without a thermostat.

Which means the if someone flushed the toilet etc then you will get a burst of hot water.

Manual shower valves have a better flow rate than thermostatic shower valves,

but they should not be used if there are small children or elderly people who use the shower.
